While being very polite and accomodating via phone/email comms, the actual issue was with the follow-through and delivery of services. Communication is patchy and in a sense, I felt like if I didn't micromanage (and I recoil at the term 'micromanager'), nothing would happen. When you're trying to scale up a small business the last thing you want to think about is tax/numbers – and a reason why you outsource this task. The other previous reviews are telling and I wish I had of seen them before engaging Coastal Accountants (formerly Coolum). After being left hanging for too long now, I've gone elsewhere and even my new accountant is having issues with getting in touch with Coolum/Coastal Accountants. Some advice I'd offer to them is that if you're not able to take the work on, just simply... don't. I thought part of the code of ethics provided by the CPA was to 'serve the client'. A bummer really, because they seem like fundamentally nice people. However, you are left feeling disrespected to a degree and as if your business is of no importance to them.
